Three businesses I will compete with are, Lisa’s Cookie Shop, Lets Eat OC, and Gumdrop Cookie Shop. These other businesses are doing well, and there is definitely room for me because who doesn’t love more cookies!? My business will do better than the other ones because I am going to personalize the cookies people want. The advantage I have over my competitors is that I have many people to help me. A disadvantage is that I’m only 13 and people may think I’m not qualified to cook for them. My customers will be a variety of different ages, adults, children, teens, elderly, etc. I plan to serve 20 plus customers a day. I will connect with my customers by greeting them personally and asking what kind of cookies they want, I’ll also tell them our specials. I will advertise my product by putting ads in the newspaper, possibly on the radio. I will have specials every week. My normal prices will be: Small Cookie: $1.00 Medium Cookie: $1.50 and Large Cookie: $2.00. I will also sell cookies by the dozen for $5.00. I plan to maintain an adequate supply of cookies by making cookies or having my employees make cookies every night. Possibly every other night depending on the amount we sell the day before. Normally, the amount of cookies cooked the night before will be 3 or 4 dozen. I plan to have 6 employees including myself. There will be typically, 3 employees working a shift at a time. One employee will make the cookies, one employee will be the cashier, and one employee will clean the store and I will fill the position of manager. My employees pay will be on salary and they will make minimum wage plus tips. I will find my employees by asking friends and family. I am qualified to run this business because I have been baking for a long time and I love to make cookies. When we do projects in school I love to take control and manage the project. I will be successful because I have many people to support me with this and I have experience with what I am about to do. |
