Directions: -In this module, students will learn to develop knowledge of simple working machines, basic hand tools, and be exposed to the variety of metal materials that are available. Students will also deign, plan, and build a simple metal craft projects. This module will give students the opportunity to have a small part of the Hugh field of metal technology.
The module contains six lessons and one day for assessment of the student's progress. Students will complete all assignments of this module, take a photo, and place all of their work in the Technology Engineering portfolio.
  1. Locate the “Metalwork Technology” study sheet. Readings have a large amount of information. Take notes to enhance learning for future key questions.

  2. View the “Metals” Power Point presentation. Take notes to enhance learning for future key questions.

  3. Locate and complete all the lessons and worksheets within the Metals Module and save them to your portfolio.

  4. Select a Metal project from the module notebook or use this as a homework assignment. To select a project, use the internet to search for a simple project, also.

  5. After selection of a project, begin the design and layout process of the project. Save to your portfolio.

  6. Now begin transferring the design (pattern) to the metal materials.

  7. Begin the process, including measurement and a written procedure for construction. Save it to your portfolio.

  8. Begin the construction process by obtaining materials from the instructor. Review safety procedures.

  9. Continue the work on metal project. Review safety procedures.

  10. Continue the work on metal project. Upon completion of the construction phase you may want to check your project for improvements.

  11. After completing finishing phases, check with instructor for possible improvements.

  12. Locate the digital camera and take a photo of the project, save to your portfolio.

  13. Utilize the completion of all the lessons and worksheets to discuss the completion of the module with the instructor.
